WHAT: Habitat for Humanity Portland Region is celebrating a new community in Gresham, Myrtlewood Way, featuring 20 homes with 3, 4, or 5 bedrooms, that will house over 80 people This community would not be possible without the support of the City of Gresham, Metro Housing Bond funding, federal America Rescue Plan Act funds secured by State Representative Zach Hudson and State Senator Chris Gorsek, and hundreds of individuals who have donated both money and time to make affordable homeownership possible for more people in Gresham.

Joining Habitat for Humanity at this site celebration event at the Myrtlewood Way property will be Representative Zach Hudson, Representative Ricki Ruiz, Metro Regional Housing Director Patricia Rojas, Gresham City Councilor Dina DiNucci, and OHCS Assistant Director of Homeownership Talia Kahn-Travis. These elected officials and their federal, state, and local colleagues played an instrumental role in helping Habitat secure funding.

The 20 homes at Myrtlewood Way will be located across the street from the Nadaka Nature Park and Garden in the Rockwood neighborhood, known for its cultural diversity. The community will feature a beautiful green space with mature Douglas Fir trees.
