Many employers offer programs that multiply your impact — from matching your donation dollar-for-dollar to payroll deductions that make giving easy and automatic. When you give to Habitat through your workplace, you help more people in our community build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

There are many ways to give through your employer:

Matching Gifts 

Submit a matching gift request for your company to financially match your donation. This can make your donation go further by doubling (or tripling) your donation! Search your company below to see if they will match your financial donation or volunteer hours. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift.

Payroll Deductions

Set up a one-time or recurring payroll deduction from your paycheck. These automatic deductions are tax-deductible! A gift of any size can add up to huge impact over time.  

Volunteer Grants

FAQ’s

How do I submit a matching gift request or volunteer grant request? 

Most companies partner with an online giving platform, such as Benevity, Bright Funds, or YourCause, to manage employees’ donations and volunteer hours. Once you find out if your company offers a matching gifts program or volunteer grants program, you can use your company’s portal to donate to Habitat and request a matching gift at the same time.  

To check if your company matches gifts, use the Companies That Match search tool above, or reach out directly to your company’s HR team to ask. 

When do I need to submit my matching gift request? 

Submit your request as soon as possible — ideally right after you donate. This ensures you don’t miss your company’s deadline and helps us receive your matched funds faster. 

That said, if you’ve already donated and just learned about your employer’s matching program, don’t worry — it might not be too late! Many companies will still match past donations to Habitat. However, most do have submission deadlines: 

  1. End of the calendar year 
  1. A set number of months from the donation date (typically one year, though it can range from one to twelve months) 
  1. End of January or February following the year the donation was made 

Bottom line: Check your company’s policy and submit right away. Even if time has passed, it’s worth trying! 

I don’t see Habitat for Humanity Portland Region listed in my employer’s online giving portal. How do I add your organization? 

Contact your company’s HR or corporate philanthropy team to see what requirements and information are needed to add Habitat for Humanity Portland Region to your company’s online giving portal. Then reach out to Senior Business Engagement Officer Tor Ostrom, and we’ll partner with you and your company to provide the information and any paperwork needed.
