Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria have caused unprecedented and widespread devastation, forcing thousands of people out of damaged homes and communities in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Habitat for Humanity International has local affiliates throughout the regions affected by the storms. With their help, Habitat is assessing shelter and housing needs. Habitat’s three-phase disaster response focuses on immediate relief, community stabilization and long-term recovery.
Building on over 20 years of disaster response, Habitat is organizing resources to help with the cleanup and long-term construction needs caused by these storms. Long-term plans will be determined after evaluations and will depend on the level of support Habitat receives from donors, volunteers, corporate partners and other community organizations.
