The Interfaith Committee of Habitat for Humanity Portland Region is a community of leaders and volunteers from a diverse array of faith backgrounds. We share the common goal of helping individuals and families in our community build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.
The Interfaith Committee actively welcomes individuals from all faith backgrounds who share a commitment to building homes, communities, and hope.
Members bring their faith, values, and community connections together to support Habitat’s mission, strengthen partnerships across diverse faith communities, and put shared beliefs into action through service, generosity, and advocacy across the Portland region.
What We Do
The Interfaith Committee brings together people of faith to create meaningful, lasting impact. Members engage their faith communities in meaningful service, generosity, and advocacy to support affordable homeownership and strengthen community across the Portland region.
Supporting our community through faith-driven action:
Interfaith Committee members roll up their sleeves at Habitat ReStores and build sites, provide snacks and meals for volunteers on the build sites, and organize hands-on opportunities that make it easy for faith communities to serve together.
Activating faith communities through hands-on service:
Interfaith Committee members host tables at Habitat’s HopeBuilder Lunch, lead and support the Gifts that Build campaign, and invite their communities to give, volunteer, and advocate for safe, affordable housing throughout the Portland region.
