Sunshine, smiles, and community spirit filled the air at our seventh annual Homeowner Celebration on Saturday, September 20! Dozens of Habitat homeowners, families, and friends joined us for an afternoon of learning, laughter, and connection at our Home SAFE Home event.
This year’s celebration focused on emergency preparedness and home safety — because safe, stable homes are at the heart of thriving communities.

We were joined by wonderful community partners who shared valuable tips and resources for staying prepared:
Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM), Portland Fire & Rescue, the American Red Cross Northwest Region, Upstream Access, and the Oregon Department of Consumer & Business Affairs: Division of Financial Regulation (DFR).

Our own Habitat Homeowner Leadership Council and Home Repair experts also shared their insights on keeping homes strong and families safe.
And of course, no celebration would be complete without great food and fun! Guests enjoyed delicious tamales from Salvador Molly’s, balloon creations from Antonio Sombrero Balloons, and a raffle packed with exciting prizes.
If you couldn’t make it this year, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved. We offer free homeowner education classes year-round, open to the public.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s celebration—and to continuing to build safety, stability, and community together.
