Step 1 – Requirements

Step 2 – Register for the Mailing List
Register for the mailing list by clicking the button below and filling out the form. This allows us to notify you when we have homeownership opportunities available.
Step 3 – Attend an Information Meeting
This is not a requirement to apply, but attending an information session will provide you with important information about our application process and give you a chance to ask our staff questions.
Step 4 – Review our Homes for Sale
Choose from a variety of homes we have around the Portland Metro Area. Check out the descriptions and features of the home to see if it is the right home for you.
Step 5 – Online Application
Fill out and submit the application found on the specific home’s page. Be sure to attach all required documents. Applications are open periodically as homes become available. Please check the Homes page for current opportunities.
Step 6 – Application Review Process
Once we receive an application along with all supporting documents, they are reviewed for basic eligibility.
- New Construction – Applications are opened one neighborhood at a time and applications are reviewed in a random order once the application period closes.
- Resales – Are reviewed on a first come-first-serve basis. The first complete application we receive that fulfills all specified criteria for the home is approved.
Step 7 – Pre-Approval
If your application is reviewed and meets our qualifications, Habitat staff will reach out to you to discuss pre-approval for our program and a loan with one of our lending partners. Once we get final approval on your application, you will be notified by Habitat staff, and we will schedule your orientation!
